This section covers stone surface finishes such as polished, honed, leathered, flamed, bush-hammered, chiselled, shot-blasted, sandblasted, scratched, grooved, cut and broken, filled and unfilled, as well as patterned finishes such as Lineal, Chevron and Super Rock. A finish changes both the look and the performance of the stone: a polished surface deepens colour and veining, while textured surfaces such as flamed, bush-hammered and shot-blasted give more grip on outdoor floors, stairs and paving. The right finish depends on location, foot traffic, moisture, cleaning and the look you want, and each finish has a different cost.
